Waitangi Day Sunshine Coast & Polynesian Festival

This is a community event. We welcome everybody from every culture. We encourage people from all different nationalities to come & enjoy the food & entertainment. Everybody will have a great day - people attending previous events say they have never experienced such awesome entertainment like this! Come & get involved & experience Kiwi & Pacific Island culture, entertainment, amazing dancing & of course the delicious traditional Kiwi & Pacific Island food! It's a day to feast on all types of cuisine - fast foods, hotcakes & more are also available.
The event will be in its 5th year in 2012. Each year the program has been expanded to be
bigger and better featuring live entertainment, a licensed bar, Maori and
Polynesian dancing and culture groups, arts and craft stalls, jumping castle, games and more.
A wide variety of food is available including traditional south pacific cuisine, seafood, ice cream, coffee, and even a hangi which uses the traditional methods of slow cooking meat beneath the ground.
Licensed bar. No children allowed in bar area. Don't drink and drive.
FREE ENTRY under 12 years
$10 adults. $5 age pensioners. No passouts
Due to liquor licence & council regulations, NO BYO ALCOHOL or food is allowed to be bought into the ground. You may bring unopened bottled water. Free drinking water fountain available. No dogs are permitted (dogs for the blind only). Part proceeds support Caloundra Union Club and the junior development program so your support of this event is a practical measure that provides a visible community benefit. This event is organised and run by volunteer labour and meets all Council, Police & Liquor Licencing requirements.
Prepare well and bring cash you will need for the day. Stallholders have limited EFTPOS facility so it will mostly be a cash event. Plenty of raffles too so bring your gold coins along for a chance to win heaps of great prizes!
