Spacifix:

This seven-piece band recently returned from a series of successful shows in Manchester, Amsterdam and London, followed closely by Sydney and Brisbane. And now we’re lucky to have them coming HERE to perform at Waitangi Day Sunshine Coast!

Spacifix exploded onto the NZ Music scene in May 2006 with their hit song "Sunshine Day". Since then Spacifix have released another four singles and their debut album "Much Love". Spacifix are considered New Zealand's best LIVE band and have performed over 100 shows within the last 12 months and appeared on over 30 TV shows.

They were selected to provide support for Christina Aguilera for her New Zealand shows in September 07. The band also have international acclaim and performances with artists like UB40 and Shaggy under their collective belt.

Spacifix started their careers four years ago, when they entered the Smoke Free Pacifika Beats national band competition and won. Since then, the band has been performing their blend of funk, pop, reggae, and rock all over New Zealand.

Spacifix spent several years writing songs and building a fan base in Auckland before releasing their debut album Much Love in 2006. The year was a successful one for the band, who were commissioned by World Vision to write and record the 2006 40-Hour Famine soundtrack, Spread da Word.

The music video of their hit single Sunshine Day won a prestigious Telly Award, which honours video and film productions from around the world, in Los Angeles, and the band have two Pacific Music Awards and one Tui (New Zealand Music Industry Award) under their belts already.

Spacifix also starred in their own 9 part, award winning documentary. The band’s early success and trip to Los Angeles were filmed for a nine-episode series aired on New Zealand Television called Henderson to Hollywood. The show won the Air New Zealand 2007 Screen Award for best reality series.
